Joe and Ericka met while both attending Furman University. They were paired as “brother” and “sister” halls their Freshman year and became fast friends. They remained friends until their Junior year when they went on their first date. Their first date is one of Ericka’s favorite memories, they went to dinner at Tupelo Honey, followed by swing dancing by the Furman Bell Tower. Joe made her a CD of her favorite songs and they danced the night away. From that moment on, Ericka says “she was a goner!”

Every dating anniversary since, they replay this sweet memory. This is actually the very spot that Joe proposed to Ericka! Joe also played football at Furman – so Greenville has a very special place in their hearts, making it the perfect place for them to get married!

Ericka and her bridesmaids got ready at her parents home, the place where she grew up & has so many sweet memories. Her first look with her father was in her back yard, the most beautiful location for such a sweet moment. Her and Joe became husband and wife at Furman’s Chapel, then travelled up the mountains to The Cliffs at Mountain Park.

Their reception space was beautifully designed and planned by Oliver Hooper Events! With a classic checkered dance floor, a classic spin on farmhouse tables, and beautifully arranged florals and hanging installations by Modfete, it was truly a magical space. Also, Ericka was surprised by her family with a live painting by C. Brooke Ring, one of her dreams! Y’all, this day, unreal!
