"In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Braden and I love to host. Whether it be for one person, or 30 people, we love it and it's something that truly fills us up. Last year, we gave Friendsgiving a try, having a handful of our friends come over and have dinner together the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was a success! And there you have it, a tradition was started.
This year, we wanted to host Friendsgiving 2.0, but I wanted to create a space where we could all share dinner together at one table. Last year, we were all scattered throughout the house, and all the girls sat on the floor around our coffee table. For whatever reason that always happens when we have a group over, haha! So I really wanted to have a huge table where we could all sit together.
Our friends and family let us borrow multiple fold out tables and an assortment of mix-matched chairs. One of these days I'll rent a long farm table and some pretty chairs, but until then, this set up was perfect. I found some cream and gold table cloths at TJ Maxx and made a garland with a mixture of Trader Joe's eucalyptus and some vines from our yard (hello super cheap table garland)! My dear friend over at Kate Asire Flowers lent her pretty vintage candlesticks which truly made the table complete. Braden and our friend Drew hung up a strand of twinkle lights to map out parking & to give a little more ambient light over the table.
We do a pot luck dinner, so there was no shortage of food! We all made plates and headed outside for dinner, did a quick clean up, and headed inside to watch our Tigers take on Wake Forest! I cannot tell you how much it meant to us to have all of our people in one place. It's so hard to get everyone together now that we all have full-time jobs, live in different cities, and all have full schedules. Friendsgiving is the perfect opportunity to gather, truly give thanks, and to reconnect.
To everyone that came, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We loved celebrating this season of thankfulness with you & it's always more fun to cheer on the Tigers with a house full of Clemson grads!
"O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting."
