Day 10:  Positano to Naples

I wanted to finish out a roll of film before we left Positano, so as soon as I woke up I went for a little stroll down to the beach. After my little photoshoot, the four of us had breakfast at La Zagara (see a theme here?) for some pastries and more shaved ice café freddos. Mmm, still missing those and wishing I could have one right now.

We shopped around for a little while to make sure we had all of our little souvenirs, gifts for friends, and any last pasta and wine purchases. We figured it was totally worth spending a little time on the pebble beach, so we took a 2 hour break for some sun before our drive to Naples.

We washed up, ate a little lunch at La Zagara, and made our way to the car. The drive was equally as beautiful leaving as it was coming, however it was a little bittersweet.

Naples wasn’t quite what we expected. It was honestly a little scary and not somewhere we wanted to venture around. We settled into our last hotel, Hotel Stelle, and spent a little time walking around the train station. The station felt like an airport, there were restaurants, shops, and people buzzing about with suitcases.

We popped into a few shops just to pass some time, and then settled down to our last Italian dinner. We toasted to the best trip of our lives thus far, had one last gelato, and turned it in early for our flight the next morning. We flew from Naples to Munich, and Munich to Charlotte, making our last leg in the car from Charlotte to Greenville.

It feels so good to be home, but there will always be a little piece of my heart in Italy.

Definitely the current front runner for favorite trip ever!

In the next few weeks, I plan to post a simplified version of our full itinerary. All credit is owed to Braden and Andrew for planning our trip. They booked everything, planned everything, and Ali and I were just along for the ride. In my opinion, we spent the perfect amount of time in each city we visited. I probably could have spent one more day in both Tuscany and Positano, but I honestly think you could make an entire trip out of those two locations!
