Lucas + Candace | Edisto Island Wedding featured on A Low Country Wed

Candace and Lucas tied the knot on Lucas’ family’s plantation on Edisto Island. Cotton was incorporated in the subtle details of the boutonnieres and centerpieces, and it is symbolic of the history of the plantation. The plantation was used to grow potatoes, and the family still owns some of the original burlap potato sacks with the name printed on them, making the plantation a family business. The history runs deep at this plantation, as well as low country charm and tradition. Candace and her girls got ready inside gorgeous plantation home, which has recently been updated to highlight the old charm of the house.

The vibrant wall paper and classic color palette of the home interiors elegantly flowed with Candace’s color palette of blues, blush, and cream. Lucas and Candace tied the knot under the gorgeous live oaks, and celebrated with their friends and family under a tent right on the water. It’s an old family tradition for the men in the family to throw the groom in the river, and this wedding was no different!

A few side note rid bits about this day 🙂 I had a wedding the day before in Columbia, it rained the entire day! Braden picked me up after their grand exit and we drove through the night to get to Edisto. We woke up to the most beautiful weather and view, there’s something about seeing palm trees when you look out the window your first morning at the beach! We had brunch at a quaint little restaurant, got dressed, and headed to the gorgeous Middleton Plantation! It was easily the most windy day of the year, I kid you not! It was unbelievable! Another fun note, Braden was my second shooter for the day and I’ve got to say, the man can crush it behind a camera! He’s also two for two, the two weddings he has photographed with me have either been published or featured on a blog! You go, Braden! Lucas and Candace’s charming low county wedding will be featured on A Low Country Wed!
