I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while, but alas, life happens and things get backed up! There’s a fun little story about how Courtney of Broad + Main and I met. I was walking Sampson with my sweet friend and past-bride Taylor one day, and Sampson set his eyes on this quote little doodle walking behind us. In true dog person fashion, the owners have to meet when the dogs do, so Tay and I stopped and chatted with Courtney for a few minutes about our pups and continued on our way. Happens all the time!

A few days later an email popped up in my inbox from Courtney. Turns out, she had recognized me and Sampson from Instagram. Y’all, social media is a crazy thing! I’m forever grateful that she reached out and formally introduced herself, because it has lead to such a sweet friendship. I never would have guessed the girl with the cute doodle would become a friend 🙂 not only that, but Courtney walked (literally) into my life at the perfect time. I was frustrated with my brand, I didn’t feel like it truly represented me or my work. Turns out, Courtney owns Broad & Main Digital Design Co., a fabulous design and branding company here in Greenville.

I decided to just go for it and put my entire brand in Courtney’s hands. I gave her a little overview of what I was going for & she seriously crushed it. Any time I got an update from her I got more and more excited. I had never felt so understood, the girl really got me and understood what I was dreaming of for my brand. Not only did she completely re-do my website, but she also updated all of my contracts, pricing guides, logo design, etc. The ins and outs of Jessi Nichols Photography finally came to life into something beautiful and timeless.

I loved this entire process. I loved being able to build a friendship with Courtney while also watching my brand develop and turn into something beautiful. I feel that my brand truly represent Jessi Nichols Photography – classic, timeless, and elegant. I feel a constant sense of pride when I get to send out my pricing guide, when I receive an inquiry through my website, or when I get to send a beautifully designed contract. If I can offer any advice to photographers or entrepreneurs in general, investing in your brand is so worth it. It is so worth it to feel that your brand not only represents what you do, but represents you. The best compliment I’ve received since the rebrand was from my dear friend Madei, also a graphic designer..
