This beautiful day was featured on The Budget Savvy Bride, you can view their full feature and Karli and Ben’s full story here!
Karli and Ben’s wedding was held on a Monday, yes you read that right, Monday, July 3rd at the Robert Mills House. They had planned their wedding fairly quickly & from out of town, and their sole focus was to love and serve their guests. There are so many favorite moments from this day, one of mine was Karli and Ben’s first look. Their first look took place in the Robert Mills garden, she was barefoot, and they were both so giddy.
After their portraits, the weather wasn’t looking great. Dark clouds were rolling in rather swiftly & everyone went into hustle mode. Their outdoor ceremony space was up for debate, what happened next is best explained by Karli herself.
“After the first look (which was the sweetest moment of the day) I came back to this small Carriage House where we sat waiting for the ceremony. Alisha (planner) came in and told us we were going to have to move the ceremony inside because of the storm. Yes it stormed.
The bridal party sprinted outside in the rain and started grabbing chairs to bring them into this tiny brick building. I was over-whelmed having that many people, in their fancy clothes and beautiful hair, willing to do that just for us. Ten minutes later and people started showing up, I was crammed into this tiny bathroom with all my bridesmaids and flower girls. Was I still barefoot you ask? Yes. Was it gross? Maybe.
Anyway, we all were back there watching as all our friends entered and sat down. Not the way I planned. But when something is so far out of your control all you can do I laugh about it, especially when you are surround by your fav gal pals.
We laughed and drank champagne and I had one of those moments that you almost get choked up because you feel undeserving to be where you are at. It didn’t matter that the ceremony was moved inside and it didn’t matter that I was barefoot in a bathroom, I felt so joyful to be surrounded by the people I love getting to marry the man I love most.”
