Usually, baby boy showers are cute boy themes – but I dreamed of bright florals and all things spring to celebrate his little life coming into the world this June! I’m a big fan of bright, vibrant color, and wanted to stay true all the things I love – friends, family, delicious treats, and all things spring inspired. We decided to do a spin on “a cutie on the way,” and created a citrus social with a garden party feel, taking place all outdoors.
I had 25 hosts & co-hosts and wanted to make sure they knew how loved and appreciated they are. I found these little knot initial bracelets on Etsy and included a little note,” it takes a village, and we are so grateful you are a part of ours!” Y’all know how I feel about wedding details, so needless to say these were all so special to me!
When Kate was working on florals with her team, one of them asked if these were for a baby girls shower, and she replied “nope, it’s just so Jessi and I love it!” The girl gets me & made all my flower dreams come true. My bestie, Megan, created the cutest invites with a little hint at our citrus theme and we loved how they turned out!
In lieu of opening gifts during the shower, we decided to do a time of prayer to honor His goodness in this season & the seasons to come. Every part of this was my favorite few minutes during my shower this weekend, it was so powerful and is such a picture of the sweet community we are so lucky to call ours.
The Lord’s provision was truly something else on this particular Sunday. We had many key friends and family members that made this day everything that it was, all 25 of them made it (minus 2) from different states & cities. There are so many things they could’ve been doing on a Sunday afternoon and they chose to be here to celebrate our sweet boy — answered prayer.
The amount of helping hands we had to bring this all together blew me away. Our friends and families willingness to serve, to give up some of their time, and to do so with the best attitudes and joyful hearts — sweet blessing.
On a cold day that had an 80% chance of rain, it was the perfect temperature and the sun came out in this moment — answered prayer. There are countless things that only the Lord could control, so there was only one option — keep open hands.
He is good all the time, and I am so grateful to have this unbelievable tribe of women in my life. Baby Nichols already has the best team of prayer warriors, family, honorary aunts, and tiny besties. I am so thankful in every single way.
This day truly wouldn’t have been possible without these amazing people / vendors!
